GATEWAY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
BURN PERMIT
GENERAL OUTDOOR BURNING REGULATIONS

Burning must be conducted during DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY. All fire must be completely out by dark. THIS MEANS COLD TO THE TOUCH.

NO burn barrels shall be used.

All fires must be attended at all times.

Attendant must have a hose connected to a water supply and a shovel/firefighting tool on scene at all times.

All fires shall be a minimum of 25 feet from any structure (includes trees and fences).

All fires shall be a maximum of __________ feet wide by __________ feet long by __________ feet high.

Fire officials are authorized to require burning be discontinued if smoke emissions are offensive to occupants of surrounding properties.

Permits are required under the International Fire Code §105.6.30
EXAMPLES OF ITEMS THAT CAN AND CANNOT BE BURNED
If any of the above rules are violated, this permit will be revoked and you will be charge for all expenses incurred for staffing and equipment for responding to the illegal burn, see Fee Schedule at top.
Issuance of a burn permit, in no way, releases you from liability for damages caused by fires that become out of control. Gateway Fire Protection District is not liable for any injury or damage caused by fires approved by a burn permit. Should a monitored fire become out of control, call 911 immediately.
